Gallery Night & Day

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

opps!  This was supposed to publish last week.  Sorry!!  I hope you were able to make it to Gallery Night & Day!  It was fantastic. In fact, you can still catch the artwork up in the lobby of the Studio Theater in the Broadway Theatre Center.  And while you are there, you can still catch The Persians.  It runs through November 2.

Be sure to stop by the Broadway Theater Center this Friday and Saturday to check out “The Art Behind the Artist.”  See what theatre artist create when they’re not working on the show.

After be sure to check out the Skylight Bistro and Bar for a cocktail or appetizer….yes, they have food up there now.

We will be there Friday from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and Saturday from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.  Heck, as long as you are already there, stop in and see our latest production of the Persians.  There is a lot of great buzz about this show.

Persians Mania Hits the Journal Sentinel

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

When you’re a small theatre company, sometimes it’s difficult to achieve the status of being “news.”  I mean, how does Aeschylus compete with the election or the financial crisis for the front page?  Well, today we made the front page…of Cue that is.  So check out Damien’s Jaques’ article about The Persians, and while you’re at it read his review.

I think what you read will inspire you to see this production.   The Persians is a rare opportunity…don’t miss it!

Meet the Director – Angela Iannone

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

It’s always fun to meet actors, directors and other people involved in theater.  You get to meet our very own local celebrities while hearing what they are working on and their take on their upcoming show.  Well, consider yourself invited to meet actor, director, author and local celebrity Angela Iannone. iannone.jpg

  • Angela will be appearing at the Harry W. Schwartz Bookshop in Mequon on Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00 pm.  She will be there to discuss our upcoming production of THE PERSIANS.
  • But wait…there is more…She will also be discussing her new book Rehearsing with Aeschylus.
  • But wait…there’s more.  On this night only, a percentage of sales, (not just from Angela’s book, but from all sales) will be donated back to Renaissance Theaterworks.  Time to do some shopping.
  • See you there!!

Ahhhhh Greek Out! Le Greek C’est Chic

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

For the past three weeks, I have had the extreme good fortune of working
with Director, Angela Iannone, on THE PERSIANS.  I’ve been choreographing the
stage movement for the Chorus comprising six talented actors. They are a
band of brothers, an ensemble of excellence, a fraternity of fine actors, a
body of brawn, a pack of pranksters, a cluster of clowns, a team of teasers,
and a ton of fun! I don’t want to name any names but the ringleader’s
initials are James Fletcher. Who knew working on a chest beating, blood
smearing, tear squeezing Greek tragedy would be such a gas!
