Want to become involved with Renaissance Theaterworks… Become a Friend!

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

There are plenty of volunteer opportunities with Renaissance Theaterworks that really makes a difference to the company and to the actors.  And it’s fun.  The Friends Group is a volunteer group of people who share a love of Renaissance and wants to do what they can to be a part of it or to help out.

One of the greatest pleasures as well as help that the Friends Group provides is the “Sundown Suppers.”  On Saturday’s during the run of a  performance, the cast and crew have a show at 4p and 8p.  This doesn’t allow them enough time to get dinner, so RTW arranges dinner for them.  This is a “Sundown Supper.”  And as a Friend Group Volunteer, you would be able to provide dinner for the cast and crew.  Essentially,  you would be hosting a dinner party for the cast, crew and you can include your friends if you wish.  It’s really a lot of fun and you get to meet the cast and crew and chat with them about the show, how they got into acting or whatever.  It’s really a rewarding experience.

It’s fun and exciting to meet Milwaukee’s celebrities!  Let us know if you are interested in becoming a Friends Group member or would like more info about the Sundown Suppers.

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Did you happen to catch the St. Patrick’s Day Parade?  If you did, you couldn’t have missed the green truck with the Barney & Bee banners on the side and the groovy gals dressed in their best 70’s get-ups.

I’ve got to tell you, the people LOVED Barney & Bee.  There were people screaming for Barney & Bee.  Of course, many had been drinking, but they still loved us.

Wait ’til you see what we do next!

Barney & Bee is open now and runs until April 12.
